Titled players without a published standard rating are not on this list and are not counted. The world figure counts every row, including federations without a repository geography and players registered under the FIDE flag (FID). FIDE codes map to ISO 3166 codes through the reviewed table in this configuration; England, Scotland and Wales are separate FIDE federations and no count is assigned to the United Kingdom.
