Corrections

Every figure on this site is checkable against its source, and we would rather be corrected than be wrong. Reports are answered within 48 hours, and the outcome is logged below, including the ones we get wrong.

Report an error

The most useful reports point at a specific record and say what is wrong: the value, the unit, the period, the attribution, or a source link that has stopped working.

Our commitment

  • 48 hours to respond. Every report gets a human reply, even the ones we reject, with the reasoning.
  • Corrections are public. Fixed records appear in the log below with the date.
  • Nothing is deleted. A corrected figure keeps its URL and is marked as superseded, so existing citations do not break.
  • Source links are monitored. Every source URL is rechecked weekly; dead links are repaired or the record is re-sourced.
Disagree with a source, not with us? If our figure faithfully reproduces a publisher's number but you believe the publisher is wrong, tell us anyway. We can record a disputed status and link your counter-evidence.
