Policy

Privacy

Reading the archive, calling the API, and connecting the MCP server do not require an account.

This policy describes StatOrigin (https://statorigin.org), the public statistics archive, its REST API, and its MCP server at https://statorigin.org/mcp. It was last updated on 12 October 2026.

What you can do without an account

Pages, the REST API, and the MCP server are public and read-only. The MCP server does not ask for a key. A request does not create a user profile.

Rate limits

Anonymous API calls and MCP calls are counted so one network cannot crowd out everyone else. The counter key is a hash of the network address and the UTC date. The raw address is not stored as a profile, and the counter expires the next UTC day. MCP uses its own counter, separate from the REST API. See the MCP guide and the API guide.

Corrections

The corrections form stores the message you send and the page it refers to. An email address is optional and is used only if you ask for a reply. Reports are kept so the correction itself can be checked later. Write to corrections@statorigin.org to ask about one.

Measurement

Pages may load two measurement tags:

The MCP endpoint does not embed either tag. A client that only calls /mcp is not measured by them.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal information. We do not require an account to read a figure. The MCP tools only return published statistics and their sources. They do not write records, and they do not open an admin route.
