Using the archive

Terms

The figures are free to read and cite. Name the publisher, and link the record.

These terms cover https://statorigin.org, the REST API, and the MCP server at https://statorigin.org/mcp. They were last updated on 12 October 2026.

The data

StatOrigin’s compilation of records is published under CC BY 4.0. Attribution is required. Commercial use is permitted. Each record still names the organisation that published the figure. Their document stays under their terms. Follow the source link on the record.

A citation names that publisher and links the permanent record on statorigin.org. The methodology describes how a figure is checked, and what an actual, an estimate, and a forecast mean. Do not drop the period, the place, the unit, or that label.

The MCP server and the API

Both are read-only public interfaces. The MCP server has no sign-in. You may not use either one to attempt to change, delete, or insert records, or to reach an admin route. Daily limits are described on the MCP guide and the API guide. Automated access should honour those limits and robots.txt.

A dataset evidence description is generated from the publisher’s data. It is not a quotation of their page. Quote-based records carry the sentence the figure was taken from. Present them accordingly.

No warranty

The archive is provided as published. A record can be corrected or superseded. The page and the API say when a later record has replaced one. Report a mistake through the corrections register. We aim to answer within 48 hours. We do not warrant that a figure is fit for a particular decision.
