Sixty-six percent of foreign company R&D funding went to three industry groups: pharmaceuticals and medicines (NAICS 3254) ($9 billion), scientific research and development services (NAICS 5417) ($4 billion), and computer and electronic products (NAICS 334) ($4 billion) (table 2).
