ICT sector gross value added

The evolution of the ICT sector, measured as its weight relative to gross value added, shows (Figure 1) a steady annual growth of around 6% until 2021, followed by a stabilisation in 2022, and then a decline in 2023 (4%); even though the volume of the ICT sector’s value added (in absolute monetary terms) grew 3%, from over €792 billion in 2022, its share in the economy dropped 0.22 percentage points (pp.) in 2023.
